Description

The sealing wax burner is the most efficient way to melt sealing wax beads for creating beautiful, consistent wax seals. Designed for anyone producing wax seals in volume — whether for wedding invitations, branded packaging or event stationery — this electric wax melter eliminates the guesswork and inconsistency of open-flame methods. Our team recommends the electric burner as the go-to tool for clients who need reliable results across dozens or even hundreds of seals.

Why Use an Electric Wax Burner?

A dedicated wax seal burner offers clear advantages over traditional melting methods. Here is why our team considers it an essential part of any serious wax seal kit:

  • Consistent temperature control. The electric element maintains a steady, even heat that melts your wax beads to the ideal pouring consistency every time. No hot spots, no scorching, no guesswork.
  • Hands-free operation. Once you switch the burner on and add your beads, you are free to prepare your stamps, envelopes or workspace while the wax melts. This makes a significant difference when you are working through a large batch.
  • No open flame. Unlike a candle or gas burner, the electric wax melter removes fire risk entirely. This is particularly important when working at a desk surrounded by paper, ribbon and other stationery materials.
  • Professional results. The controlled melt produces a smooth, bubble-free wax that pours cleanly and creates seals with sharp, detailed impressions.

How to Use Your Sealing Wax Burner

Using the electric burner is straightforward. Follow these steps for perfect wax seals every time:

  1. Add your wax beads. Place the desired number of sealing wax beads into the melting pot. For a standard 25mm seal, approximately 3 to 4 beads will be sufficient.
  2. Switch on the burner. Plug in the unit and turn it on. The heating element will begin warming the pot immediately.
  3. Wait for the wax to melt. Allow 2 to 4 minutes for the beads to fully liquefy. The wax is ready when it flows smoothly with no solid pieces remaining. Avoid overheating — if the wax begins to smoke, switch off briefly and allow it to cool slightly.
  4. Pour onto your surface. Carefully pour the melted wax onto your envelope, sticker or silicone mat. Pour in a slow, controlled motion to create an even pool.
  5. Press your stamp. Allow the wax to settle for 1 to 2 seconds, then press your wax seal stamp firmly into the centre. Hold for a few seconds, then lift cleanly.

Between pours, the burner keeps any remaining wax at the ideal temperature, so you can work continuously without reheating.

Electric Burner vs Sealing Wax Spoon

Both the electric burner and the sealing wax spoon are effective tools for melting wax, but they suit different situations.

The sealing wax burner is the better choice when you need to produce a large number of seals in a single session. It holds more wax, maintains a consistent temperature throughout your workflow, and frees your hands so you can focus on stamping. For wedding invitation runs of 50 or more seals, the electric burner saves considerable time and delivers more uniform results.

The sealing wax spoon is ideal for smaller batches, quick projects or situations where portability matters. It pairs with a tea light candle, requires no power source and is easy to tuck into a craft kit or take to a workshop. If you are making fewer than 20 seals at a time, the spoon is a perfectly capable and more compact option.

Many of our clients keep both tools on hand — the burner for production runs and the spoon for last-minute additions or on-location work.

How Many Seals Can You Make?

The melting pot on the electric burner holds enough wax for approximately 6 to 8 standard seals per full load. Because the burner keeps operating continuously, you simply add more beads as you work. In a single session, most users comfortably produce 50 to 100 seals per hour once they have established a rhythm.

As a guide, one 100-pack of sealing wax beads yields approximately 25 to 30 seals, depending on the size of your stamp and how generously you pour. For a wedding suite of 100 invitations, our team recommends purchasing 4 packs to allow for practice seals and any extras you may need.

Safety
Your safety is our top priority

Wax seal safety

We would like to remind you to exercise caution when creating your wax seals, as burns can easily occur when working with hot materials.

It is important to keep wax beads out of reach of children, as they pose a choking hazard.

Please note that the wax burner plate can become extremely hot during use, so it is important to handle it with care. Do not touch the plate area until it has fully cooled down.

Likewise, wax spoons can become very hot during use. To avoid injury, do not touch the heated end of the spoon while using it. Wait until it has fully cooled down before handling or cleaning it.

Thank you for taking these precautions to ensure your safety while using our products.

Inspiration and suggestions

For some extra creative beautiful finishes:

  • Try adding gold leaf flakes to the hot wax right before you stamp it
  • Try melting more than one colour together and lightly swirl colours together with a toothpick
  • Add petals or tiny flowers after pouring the hot wax but before you stamp it
  • After creating your wax seal, you can use a metallic marker to highlight the design further
  • Add a bit of glitter or metallic powder into the melted wax before pouring
  • Add in a few tiny seed beads in different colours to the melted wax before pouring
